South Dublin County Council have revealed that the amount of time it takes to re-let a vacant council house has increased to 23 weeks. 620 homeless applicants currently sit on the Council’s housing list and the average time they will sit on the housing list is around 9 months.

The Housing Department plan to address the current time-frames by improving allocation, offering and pre-tenancy procedures. Finalising the appointment of new tenders to re-let repairs to complement labour staff works, and through the tightening of how they manage transfers.
