Smashing Barriers

In this podcast Maureen McGovern and Anthony Gannon of Smashing Barriers Drama Collective tell us about Dead or Alive, an innovative theatre performance which tackles some serious social change with high spirits, humour, and a bank robbery.

Smashing Barriers Drama Collective formed in September 2016 to explore ways that theatre performance can challenge the inequalities and barriers that face disabled people that prevents their full participation in society. Based in Ballyfermot, the Collective includes disabled people with a range of impairments and experiences. It transcends individual disability groups, embodying the intension to break down the barriers within the disability community, local community as well as the wider society.
