A recently released Local Area Plan has earmarked a location in Cherry Orchard as ideal for the development of a significant number of residential units.
Loca Area Plans set out the principles for the future development of the area in question along with developing a vision for the future of the area. The key points in the plan appear to look at the development of vacant sites, the promotion of sustainable transport, the creation of a local neighborhood focal point and facilitating the provision of local retail units.
The plans also including consolidating and improving upon the existing sports and recreational facilities. Public Submissions are now being accepted on the plans and a number of information sessions are being planned, the first of which takes place on Tuesday the 18th of June in The Orchard Centre for 9:30 am to 12:00 pm.
