International Women’s Day Events

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2019 a number of events around the community have been organised.

Gender Based Budgeting – A Better Balance for Ballyfermot

On Wednesday March 6th at 6:30 pm in the Ballyfermot Library, Camille Loftus a socio-economic researcher will give a presentation on Gender Based Budgeting. Her research interests include poverty, equality with a particular focus on tax and welfare and the labour market.

Fusion (Open)

This is a drop-in event for women with holistic therapies, mindfulness, healthy eating and information stands for women by women. It takes place on Thursday 7th March from 9:30 am – 2:00 pm at Fusion CPL at the Cherry Orchard Health Centre. For more Information contact Fusion CPL on 01-623 1499

Matt Talbot

A display of Portrait Photography and an Audio Piece will take place at the Ballyfermot Library on Thursday the 7th of March from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. For more information contact Matt Talbot on 086-1806964.

Ballroom & Sequence Dancing

Ballroom and Sequence Dance Classes takes place at The Orchard Community Centre on Friday the 8th of March from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. The dance teacher Marion has years of experience and will make fun and enjoyment a big part of this event. For more information contact Paul on 087-612 5520

Ballyfermot Too

An open event to hear about the work of the Ballyfermot Local Drugs and Alcohol Task Force, to make recommendations about their work going forward and to celebrate women in the community.
