Deborah Byrne is a registered psychologist and I also hold a Masters degree in Education with Special Needs. I currently work as a counsellor in private practice with adults in Wexford prior to that I worked with families of children with disabilities since 2002 in the voluntary sector. My own interest in disabilities was sparked when my second eldest son was diagnosed with dyslexia and I began to see the lack of training and services available to those affected. I set up a branch of the charity Dyslexia Association of Ireland for Co Wicklow and ran training for parents and teachers in the county as well as a workshop for children and teens. I had previously worked with children for over 20 years in the voluntary sector in Wicklow and South Dublin.
As a therapist, I currently work with individuals, couples and parents facing a variety of challenges in their lives. I create a safe, supportive environment in which each client can explore their concerns, beliefs, and hopes for the future. My passion is to empower clients by helping them to recognize their inner strengths and leveraging them to face challenges and fears head-on so that they can create the kind of life they deeply desire.
