An Post Issue Dates To Send Parcels By For Christmas

The global pandemic has made it rather difficult to return home for many people this year. Those who cannot travel this year are choosing to send Christmas presents by post. As a result, An Post are extremely busy trying to process the sheer volume of parcels in their depots. They have urged people to post as early as possible in order for the parcel to arrive on time and have subsequently issued the final dates to submit packages by.

In order to send a parcel, or a letter, overseas in time for Christmas, they should be sent by Monday December 7th. The 12th of December is your last day to post parcels to Europe. Here the reccomended dates to send post by:

Customers should be aware that there will be no mail collection on December 24th, Christmas Eve. There will be no mail delivery or collection on December 28th.

An Post also issued some advice for sending packages to ensure they are safely delivered before Christmas:

  1. Remember to pack mail items correctly and securely
  2. If there is more than one item in a package, wrap each one separately.
  3. Always address mail in capital letters or with a printed label. Use clear and legible writing to help on-time delivery of mail.
  4. Always include a sender’s name & address on the front top left hand corner of mail items. If for some reason we cannot deliver your item, it will be returned to you.
