An alert has been issued to dog owners in Tallaght after a local vet had a confirmed case of parvovirus in its practice.
Young un-vaccinated puppies and un-vaccinated dogs are most at risk, as the virus is highly contagious and has a high mortality rate. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea, dehydration, lethargy and fever. Anybody with concerns and questions are encouraged to contact their local vet or go to www.bluecross.ie.
